Roles and responsibility for
Proposal Editor/Proposal /Technical Writer opening with Fortune 50 Company:
Role Description – The person will be responsible for providing writing and editorial expertise for multiple high-value sales opportunities.
Responsibility –
- Act as a single point of contact for all requests for an assigned business unit/horizontal function
- Review and facilitate the process of assigning tasks within the team
- Manage, mentor, and monitor the technical documentation team
- Ensure new and existing documents are completed in accordance to the established guidelines and standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, and style.
- Edit materials to have a consistent voice across chapters and volumes as if written by a single author
- Provide proof-reading reviews of proposals
- Conduct overall QA for the deliverables created by the team
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to collect and develop compelling proposal content
- Gain thorough understanding of win themes and supporting information, sales story, and technical/management solutions through research and Subject Matter Expert (SME) interviews
- Provides one-on-one coaching to other proposal authors, analyzing the writing style to recommend what to continue and what to tweak
- Lead and implement initiatives at operational level to drive value for team
- Manage other ongoing operational requirements such as reporting, skill enhancement of team etc
Skills Required –
- A Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related discipline. Master’s degree in English would be preferred.
- Minimum of 3 + years of experience as a proposal editor or writer for Software Company, applying the rules of US /global English; understanding of IT software lifecycle will be highly preferred
- Excellent command of the US/global version of the English language and its application, both written and verbal.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with technical writers, peers, and Subject Matter Expert (SMEs).
- Previous experience in developing and documenting department-level style and applying it to documentation; a highly developed knowledge of style guide principles.
- A high level of competence with industry-standard technical writing tools, including, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with other standard office environment software tools, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent cross-discipline communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Significant experience with file-management and version-control systems.
