• Non functional requirements definition
• Communication skills (required). This role will involve considerable
interaction so candidates must be able to communicate clearly and concisely
with clear understanding of the types of question they are being asked.
The candidate also needs to show enthusiasm, as negotiating with vendors and QANTAS will be required.
• End-to-end lifecycle skills (required) - responsible for delivery across the full life-cycle so candidates must be confident to manage end-to-end., not just during a single phase such as design.
• Method skills (required) - will be delivering according to a set of
defined processes and methods and will enforce compliance of vendors with
determined standards in those areas. Therfore, architects must understand
the applicatrion of method and show experience in the use of the work
products. Just enumerating work products and not illustrating knowledge of
purpose or content in the context of delivery engagements is not enough.
• Decision making (required). The architect will be required to make and
justify important decisions with QANTAS and vendors. Evidence of
architectural thinking and decision making at a level higher than deep
technical decisions is required. For example, the functional and
architectural segmentation for multiple vendor solutions will require a
view of how to divide functionality across multiple components delivered
separately.
• Systems engineering (optional). Real Systems Engineering skills from
business requirenments to testing is required , rather than just management of business requirements in a spreadsheet or SE experience confined to design.
