Job Description
The candidate in this position should be able to build and support Cognos BI and/ or FPM applications working on Cognos BI tools.
Candidate will work closely in collaboration with Sales Team and helps Sales/Pre-sales/Tech Sales team in authoring proposals, developing proof of concepts and models
S/he will also be responsible for resolving any deployment/implementation issues occurring at customer site.
Candidate should be able to do comparison of capabilities of products with competition and should be able to present value of Companies products in comparison to competition. In addition be responsible for training/mentoring Sales/Tech sales/ Engineering teams on various industry specific solutions in context of Cognos BI/FPM and customer engagements in general.
Cognos BI Skills
· Sound knowledge of Cognos BI product line (Cognos 8). Very strong skills on Modelling using Framework Manager and Reporting using Report studio. This is a MUST.
· Very good command on data ware-housing, modeling, OLAP and other Business Intelligence concepts.
· Sound Knowledge of reporting and dash-boarding capabilities of various Cognos studios: Report Studio , Query Studio , Analysis Studio, Metric studio, Event studio. Framework Manager & Transformer.
- Experienced in working with various database: DB2, Oracle, Sybase, Sql Server 2005, Teradata etc.
· Experience of Cognos BI end to end Implementation
Cognos FPM Skills
· Sound knowledge of Cognos FPM product line (Planning, Controller and TM1)
· Must be able to work independently to develop Cognos Planning applications (Contributor and/or Analyst)
· Experience in Cognos Planning implementation - defining technical requirements and design documents for business applications
· Good knowledge of BI - FPM integration. EP tools, BI/EP, Integration, Planning / budgeting / forecasting / consolidation processes
Business skills
· Should have sound experience of preparing proposals and presentations
for potential clients to communicate the value of Cognos BI/Planning
products.
· Experience in working closely with clients and users for scoping and
defining BI/Planning requirements.
· Good experience in Cognos delivery management / Effort estimation /
Pre-sales support / solutions
· Good understanding of products from Competition (Business Object,
Hyperion, SAP BI, SAS, Microsoft )
· Good analytical skills and ability to solve technical problems of high complexity.
